Totally agree with viva's post ... masturbation is about much more than just stroking your cock, it's about bringing yourself to arousal in whatever creative ways you can come up with.

In addition to exploring your whole body -- really really important to enjoy masturbation to the fullest -- I think you can also experiment with bringing yourself to the brink of orgasm and stopping.  Instead of just stroking your cock until you get your release, see how close you can get to cumming and then come to a complete stop.  You can try to bring yourself back down to the point of losing your erection and then reach that point of near-orgasm again.

I know that partners I've had have been squirmish about anal play but more because of the sensation than the psychological effect, at least as far as I could tell. But like I said, I'm a person who'd like to try most everything sexual once, so I'm probably a little quick to misunderstand why people wouldn't want to do everything that I want to, heh!

It causes erections in the short term, but they can subside over time even while prostatic pleasure/orgasm continues.  Mine comes and goes.  Often it FEELS raging erect even when it's not at all.
